Ruby Pickens Tartt, a friend of Amy Chapman, was been interviewed on Sptember 28th, 1938, in Livingston, AL. Amy Chapman is a resident in Livingston, Alabama. She is a white. However, she is very kind to colored people that she became one of the most respected person in that region. She never allowed colored people come near to her house. (Which probably because she feared been conjured) However, she is kind to everyone and sometimes offered some helps to their neighbor. Because of this, when she illed, a lot of people hepled her. Almost whole village, including a lot colored people, attended her funeral.
My personally is happy to see that during the segeration times, especially in Deprssion times, there are still some whites that cares about blacks. I'm also happy to see that in some place, the whites and blacks can live peacefully together during the time. (Not totally, but very close)
